Color-Screen vs Monochrome Dive Computers
Color helps organize information and can make alerts easier to parse, but a high-contrast monochrome screen is still perfectly capable of showing the data a recreational diver needs.
Color is a usability feature, not a certification level
A color display does not make a computer inherently safer or more advanced. The important questions are whether you can read depth, NDL, ascent information, gas and stops quickly, and whether the computer supports the diving you are trained to do.

Display technology matters less than display design
Two computers can use the same broad display technology and feel completely different underwater.
